The Netherlands has produced some of the Premier League's most technically refined players. From the late 1990s through to today, Dutch football has shaped the top flight — particularly at Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Here is how they rank at the Big Six.

Liverpool: The Dutch connection

No Big Six club has relied more heavily on Dutch players than Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk, signed for a world record fee for a defender, leads with 272 Premier League appearances and is widely considered the greatest centre-back in the club's history. Dirk Kuyt's 208 appearances reflect nearly six seasons of relentless pressing and clutch goals. Georginio Wijnaldum (179 apps) was the engine room of Klopp's title-winning team. Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch represent the next generation, already with over 200 combined appearances between them.

Arsenal: Bergkamp and beyond

The rest of the Big Six

Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham have had fewer Dutch players by comparison. Arjen Robben's one season at Chelsea (33 apps, 2004/05) produced 18 goals before Real Madrid came calling. Boudewijn Zenden appeared for both Chelsea and Liverpool. Nathan Aké, who has featured for both Chelsea and City, represents the modern generation of Dutch defenders.
